Meet the Founder: Josh Peacock
My name is Josh Peacock, and I am the founder of SoWal Soccer School. Born and raised in Scotland, soccer has always been a fundamental part of my life and culture. Over the past 20 years, I have dedicated my career to coaching, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Coaching alongside official FA qualifications from the United Kingdom.
Throughout my professional journey, I have mentored players across a diverse spectrum of levels—ranging from grassroots youth soccer to elite professional and recreational environments across Scotland, Australia, and the United States.
One of my proudest achievements was founding the Gretna Youth Academy in my Scottish hometown. Established to provide young players with the infrastructure to develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game, the academy has since grown to support over 250 children playing weekly.
My passion for youth development eventually led me into international leadership roles. After spending several summers coaching at a premier youth camp in New York, I transitioned into full-time camp directorship. Today, I serve as the Director of one of the largest private summer camps in America, overseeing comprehensive programming, international staff, and the holistic development of young people from around the globe.
Having recently relocated my family to the beautiful SoWal area, I am incredibly excited to bring this wealth of international experience, passion, and elite coaching philosophy to our local community.
